International Women in Engineering Day

MNL Team support International Women in Engineering Day – Thursday 22nd June

This year marks the 9th year of International Women in Engineering Day being celebrated. This day gives women in Engineering around the world that recognition they deserve. The industry has welcomed many females and it is great to see. This day marks great celebrations for the amazing work that women engineers do on a daily basis.

At Michael Nugent Ltd we are passionate about our workforce involving women within the Engineering industry. We are very greatful to have so many intelligent females within our workforce. Our team of powerful females are within multiple roles including; HSEQ & HR Director, Quantity Surveying, Document Controlling, Receptionist, Digital Marketing & Bidding, Mechanical Estimator, Digital Construction, Accounts and Helpdesk Co-Ordinators.

According to Women’s Engineering Society (WES) figures in June 2021 show that an incredible 16.5% of engineers are women. It is vital each women within the Engineering industry encourage more young women to take up careers within the Engineering industry.

Mechanical Estimator, Amy Stewart said, “It is fantastic that International Women in Engineering Day is celebrated. It’s great to see all the females within the Engineering industry being recognised as it encourages more young females to undertake a role within the industry. After graduating from Energy & Building Services Engineering, I joined the MNL team as a Mechanical Engineer. After successfully progressing within this area, I developed a great interest for Estimating. I have since have developed my skills and knowledge within the company and currently I am a Mechanical Estimator within the Commercial Department. I have noticed in recent times an increase in females joining the industry and it is great to see”.
