The care home development will meet the needs of the residents with more modern services. With the increasing older generation population in Central Bedfordshire, a new care home was needed. The name Marigold House has been chosen by staff and residents at the current Westland’s care home.
The building is being constructed to the highest sustainable standards using Passivhaus criteria to deliver an energy efficient building with air source heat pumps being the main source of heating. Main Contractors, Farrans Construction have a wealth of experience within the public sector delivering senior living care homes began on site in September 2021. The building is being developed using external brick and a mixture of steel and pre cast elements.
