January 05, 2022

NUGENT are delighted to have been appointed the MEP Contractors for the new build Northern Regional College (NRC), Coleraine Campus. The £40 million campus is funded by the Department for Economy as part of an investment programme.

The project is led by main contractors Heron Bros, whom NUGENT have a long standing relationship with and look forward to continuing through the development of the state of the art college. The project itself will create multiple jobs for the economy during the construction phase of the building alone. The 12,560m2, new build, four storey college has begun replacing the existing college alongside refurbishing and restoring the former Church of Ireland premises on Brook Street. The new building is to provide academic and vocational teaching facilities including classrooms, workshops, offices, meeting rooms, canteen, restaurant, toilets and general circulation areas. The existing former Church of Ireland premises (St Patrick’s Parish centre) is being refurbished, extended and internally modified to provide space for performing arts studio, dressing room and music teaching rooms. The extension of the centre will be connected to the existing building to the West side and will incorporate new toilet facilities, and foyer/box office areas.
