Michael Nugent Ltd team participates in Belfast City Marathon 2021 in aid of Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI

Our team have taken on the Belfast City Marathon, relay races and fun run which took place on Sunday 3rd October, 2021 to raise money for our chosen charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI. Thousands of runners have taken part in this year’s Belfast City Marathon which begun on Prince of Wales Avenue in the Stormont Estate. It is estimated that over 5,700 entered the race.

The marathon itself was 26.2 mile-long which took the runners across Belfast before finishing in Ormeau Park. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic and rescheduled to May 2021 which was further rescheduled to October 2021 due to restrictions. The official charity partner for the Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon event was Cancer Focus NI.

Councillor Kate Nicholl, Lord Mayor of Belfast, joined to event to celebrate the 39th Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon. Cool FM presenters attended the starting line in the Stormont Estate along with many photographers.

Our chosen charity Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI is the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to blood cancer research. All proceeds raised go to improving survival rates and quality life for all blood cancer patients by supporting clinicians, scientists and students researching these diseases. The Leukaemia & Lymphoma NI funding supports the highest quality research for basic, translational and clinical related research.

The company set a target of £3000 and are delighted to be well over our target. Our fundraising page will be open for the next few weeks if you would like to support our chosen charity https://bit.ly/2HAnIPt. Thank you for your continued support.

Huge thank you to all the volunteers at the event for giving up their time and making the marathon happen. Well done to all participants.
