Introducing The Grand Central Hotel Belfast
Northern Ireland’s largest hotel The Grand Central Belfast has officially opened its doors to the public. Following a £53m investment from Hastings Hotels it is sure to bring a new era of glamour and grandeur to the heart of Belfast. The project brief was to increase and enhance the size of the existing Windsor House in order to cope with the growing demands of business and the thriving tourist industry in Belfast.
The revamp to the hotel has added an additional 104 guestrooms bringing the new total to 304, stretching over 22 storeys, with the 23rd floor occupied by The Observatory, the highest bar in Ireland. The Grand Central’s dining options range from a city chic Grand Café on the ground floor, to the design led Seahorse Bar & Restaurant overlooking Bedford Street.
Michael Nugent Ltd worked tirelessly over the closing weeks carrying out all mechanical and electrical installations to a high standard with commissioning taking place both day and night to ensure the hotel opened on time.
Stephen Meldrum, General Manager of the Grand Central Hotel, said: “We are delighted to open the doors of the Grand Central Hotel and see the vision of our late Chairman, Sir William Hastings, be fully recognised. “The Grand Central Hotel is a really unique proposition for Belfast.
