Michael Nugent Ltd Wins Grade-A Office Contract for New Waverley, Edinburgh

New Waverley, Edinburgh is a new creative, cultural and innovation quarter bringing together offices, homes, shops, art and leisure in a buzzing brand new district. The scheme, carried out for Artisan Real Estate Investors occupies a 7.5 acre site and links Waverley Station to the Royal Mile. Michael Nugent Ltd have been awarded the contract to provide a full mechanical and electrical services installation for the Grade A offices that form part of this stunning project.

The scheme includes the construction of three brand new hotels delivering 394 bedrooms; The RICS shortlisted Waverley Arches which hosts independent retail and catering businesses; cutting-edge Grade A office space; 28 new retail and leisure opportunities; and 148 apartments and townhouses. The project also includes a £2 million public square surrounded by shops and restaurants.

The New Waverley Offices will be the largest pre-let office space in the city for more than 20 years. It will be home to 2,900 civil servants when it opens in 2020, creating what has been billed as a “centre of excellence” for public service. Several UK government departments will be located there, including HMRC, which will operate one of its 13 regional centres from New Waverley.

The offices will be arranged across two linked buildings providing some 200,000 sq. ft. of space and offering the highest levels of sustainability and operational efficiency. Employees will benefit from modern, well-lit Grade A office space with added staff amenities including a landscaped roof area providing sweeping views across the Waverley Valley.

Michael Nugent Ltd will be providing a full mechanical and electrical services installation for this outstanding project in the heart of Edinburgh. We look forward to getting started on site and working closely with main contractors McAleer & Rushe whom we have a good working relationship with through previous projects completed together.
