Dromore Central Primary School Nearing Completion!
Mechanical works at Dromore Central Primary School, Co. Down are almost complete, with the project due to be handed over in July 2016.
As the old school building dated back to 1938, the £11.4m construction is a much-needed improvement for Dromore Central Primary School, offering 25 new state-of-the-art classrooms.
The project comes after a £350m capital investment, with £173m being delegated to the education sector. Education Minister, John O’Dowd, administrated £16m of this for the Dromore Central Primary School project. The funding was secured in June 2012 and building commenced in May 2014.
“I am delighted to officially mark the beginning of construction of the new school,” said O’Dowd from the opening of the work site. “This significant investment is good news for the pupils, staff and the wider community,” he continued. “I have no doubt that the new 25 classroom school will positively benefit everyone and will support our teaching staff in continuing to deliver a quality education.”
