£21.2 Million O’Callaghan Hotel in Cambridge Contract Awarded to Michael Nugent!

O’Callaghan hotels operate luxury establishments globally, including four hotels in Dublin, one in Annapolis, US, and another in Gibraltar, and they are looking to expand their repertoire with another in Cambridge. Michael Nugent will be providing M&E engineering services for this major project, located in the heart of the busy ‘CB1 regeneration site’ in Cambridge, England.

The plans for 155-bedroom development were lodged by Station Road Developments (Cambridge), the director of which also heads Irish chain O’Callaghan Hotels. The four-star hotel will include a restaurant, bar, meeting rooms and gym facilities and lies just outside of the major CB1 regeneration scheme.

The CB1 scheme was outlined in April 2010, with permission granted to redevelop the station area. The programme includes 331 homes, 1250 units available to students, more than half a million sq ft of office space, 56,500 sq ft of retail floor space and an 80,000 sq ft hotel.

Michael Nugent is proud to contribute to a central project such as this in such a prestigious city, and we are looking forward to starting work on site in the near future.
