New Science Park Set To Regenerate Derry’s Economy

Michael Nugent’s recently completed project at the NI Science Park in Derry is set to boost the local economy and regenerate the area’s technology industryNI Science Park Derry 3

Our recently completed project at the Northern Ireland Science Park in Derry is set to boost the local economy by £4m per year and create up to 285 jobs.

The new facility was developed to anchor the work of the Science Park across the north and west of the Province and create cross-border connections with the Letterkenny Institute of Technology. With state-of-the-art facilities, the Fort George-based Innovation Centre will provide vital space for IT, software, telecoms, bioscience and other businesses.

We provided a full mechanical fit out for this £13m new build. Installations included LPHW heating systems; solar thermal heating; gas boilers and associated flues; air curtain installation and hot water circulation.

At over 50,000 square foot, the facility offers an innovative workspace and data centre for up to 30 businesses – and with 70% of this space already leased to local company – it’s set to be an important hub for the technology and science industries in the northwest.

Michael Nugent was proud to be part of such an innovative project that promises to bring economic development and a thriving technology industry to the Derry area.
