Michael Nugent Electrical Division Completes Valley Leisure Centre
Our Electrical Division has completed a project at the Valley Leisure Centre, which is ready to be re-opened to the public
Swimmers in Newtownabbey will be pleased to see the re-opening of the town’s swimming pool, as Michael Nugent Ltd complete refurbishment works in the Valley Leisure Centre. The pool – which has been closed since January 2014 – underwent major works to upgrade the existing swimming pool and changing room area.
Michael Nugent Ltd’s Electrical Division directed the project, overseeing all aspects of the contract works that included not only our electrical services, but building works and other trades as well. This multi-disciplinary project saw the refurbishment and redevelopment of the Valley Leisure Centre’s main pool, children’s pool, pool plant room and changing areas; and proved to be a significant development in enhancing the centre’s swimming facilities.
We carried out the complete removal of all existing mechanical and electrical services associated with the main and children’s pool plant room. These were then re-installed with new services, including new containments and power and control cabling. Our engineers also replaced control panels and provided electrical testing on all main cabling.
Refurbishment works have unfortunately meant the closure of the swimming pool over a four-month period, but now the centre’s users will be welcomed back to new, state-of-the-art facilities that promise an even better swimming experience. Swim classes will also be able to resume as of the end of April.
Michael Nugent Ltd is really pleased to have provided electrical services on this project and hope the Valley Leisure Centre staff and customers enjoy their new facilities.
