Parkhall Integrated College

Michael Nugent Ltd completed the Mechanical works for Parkhall Integrated College £21m new build catering for 735-pupils in a modern learning environment.

The new school provides purpose built ‘state of the art’ accommodation returning the Parkhall pupils and staff onto one site after the old school was demolished. This made way for the new two-storey school, including first class recreational facilities; playing fields, MUGA and 5 tennis courts. The school itself includes multiple science laboratories, ICT suites, technology rooms, modern dining facilities, a youth wing, community facilities and safe access routes for pedestrians and vehicles.

MNL provided a full mechanical installation for this brand-new facility, working closely with other subcontractors and specialists. Various initiatives were implemented to minimise environmental impact when carrying out these works, including the installation of rainwater harvesting that recycles 100% of the water used on site. Installations included mains water services, LPHW heating, plumbing installations, and public health and sanitation. The programming and delivery of the coordinated services allowed MNL to maximise off-site fabrication and lean construction techniques, with the plant room and main infrastructure fabricated off site.
